About
Pawsitive Partners was founded in 2014, born from a passion for improving dogs' lives through positive training techniques. Through her professional experience with doggy daycare and boarding services, the founder, Jennifer Lee, saw a need for trainers who not only offer a positive experience for the dog, but for the owner as well. Many of her clients seemed uncertain of the benefits of training, or didn't know where to go for help. They often saw dog training as a chore or even an unjustified expense. Jennifer believes otherwise.
Positive training techniques don't focus solely on obedience. They build the relationship between you and your dog. Good training is built not simply on following the rules, but on trust. Consider your workplace for a moment. Do you have more enthusiasm for a project that offers a reward at the end (a jackpot, if you will), or for a project you need to complete to avoid a reprimand, possibly even to avoid being fired from your job?
Our dogs deal with this dilema every day. Let's replace reprimands for every mistake they might make with rewards when they answer questions correctly. Let's build an environment in which our dogs want to please, not because they're afraid of getting it wrong, but because they know how wonderful it is when they get it right.
